The other day I was truly touched, when one of the moms from my daughter’s school told me I was an inspiration and she had no idea how I managed it all. At first I was so surprised to hear it, I didn’t know what to say except Thank You.
However, after a brief moment I was able to think clearly again and realized we all do the best we can and know how, without hesitation. We all are multitasking queens, taking care of our family, maybe an aging parent, shuttling kids from one extracurricular activity to the next, preparing meals and lunch boxes, coordinating birthday parties, anniversaries, trips, managing our careers, friendships, social events, the list goes on and on.
The point I was trying to make about the sweet Mom, whom by the way I adore and admire dearly, regardless whether you are stay at home, full-time, part-time working mom, we all have big roles to play and should not diminish how much we do every day, each in our own right.
On this Mother’s Day I wish for all of us to be less stressed and rushed, less perfect, and more forgiving of ourselves, to enjoy the moment and be present in the here and now. Happy Mother’s Day!
